How it all began
Our Love Story
It all began in the heart of New York City, in a charming apartment building tucked into the West Village. We were neighbors—just one floor apart—but somehow, the universe had us walking parallel paths until the perfect moment brought us together. What started as casual hellos in the hallway soon turned into late-night conversations, shared coffee runs, and a friendship that felt like home from the very beginning.
John, born and raised in Atlanta and a proud Duke Blue Devil, brought with him a southern warmth and chivalrous charm. Ali, a New Yorker through and through, with California roots from her UCLA days, carried sunshine and spark wherever she went. Together, we found balance, laughter, and an easy kind of magic that made even ordinary days feel extraordinary.
From our very first trip together to now countless stamps on our passports, we've wandered the world hand in hand—climbing mountains, getting lost in foreign cities, cheering for our favorite teams, and always finding our way back to each other. Whether we’re watching a game, hiking a trail, or simply sitting side by side in our little West Village apartment, we’ve learned that love is not just about grand moments—it’s in the quiet ones too.
We are best friends, travel companions, teammates in life—and now, soon, husband and wife. We can’t wait to celebrate this next chapter with all of you.

Fun Facts About the Couple
When Ali first moved into their shared apartment building she baked brownies for all of the neighbors to introduce herself (with her roommate/cousin Lucy)! John and his roommates (specifically Alex Carbonelli) then baked the girls lemon squares in return… SWOON…and the friendship began!
Their romance began on the rooftop of their apartment building during March madness when Duke was in the final 4 in 2022.
Their first date was also on their rooftop! John cooked a delicious mediterranean (gluten free) meal as Ali was about to embark on an exciting film project in Cyprus!
The couple took their first trip together to Park City, Utah for the 4th of July with Ali’s family in 2022!
Who knew fate was working overtime at the Jersey Shore? Ali and John spent their childhood summers just eight minutes down the road from one another—Ali’s family in Manasquan, John’s in Sea Girt—probably passing each other on Jenkinson’s boardwalk without a clue! Now they spend every summer at the shore together with both of their families!
